Why Hip Hop Needs an Adult Rap Genre - Curtiss King
Curtiss King is an artist/commentator that I've been watching for a little while now, and over the past couple of months he's been on a run of some very interesting topics. This one in particular I thought would be nice to share, since it's something I've also thought about myself. As a fellow recording artist, I've seen the divide grow over the years in the approaches to hip hop, but never the official descriptions of them all. Within the community itself we've been able to categorize by style and region, but the industry has never been able to keep up with us in that regard as they have with other genres. This video brings us some intriguing thoughts, but what's your opinion?
Favorite Returns (since Kpop changed the connotation of comeback)
Dead Man - Alessia Cara
It has been a minute since we've gotten to hear from Alessia Cara and this single signifies a new album to anticipate. Once again, she comes with an impressive bop with her personal touch on the lyrics. Her voice is as lovely as usual over this groovy tune and drums. I just had to share this to get everyone hype for a new project to come, because she deserves the attention with her talent. Agree?
Unbreak - Katie
It's also fantastic to hear Katie back after so long! I think she's an awesome R&B talent that I wish got the label support that she's warranted. This track brings her signature sound back and it hasn't aged a bit. It's a nice jam that asks her love interest to give her a chance to erase their misgivings toward a relationship. Her vocals over the production just make you want to put it on repeat and fall into the mood. Please give her a listen if you haven't yet!
